Kiiméo is a multipurpose and elegant notebook — available in multiple themes and cover versions, sold on Amazon. For this product visualisation project, I handled all the 3D work from start to finish, in collaboration with designer Tomek Pawlowicz.
All renders were delivered before the notebook went to print, giving the client a photorealistic preview of a physical product that didn’t exist yet. Cover materials, page layouts, binding details — everything had to look convincing.
The trickiest part was the cover material rendering. Achieving a realistic fabric or textured surface in 3D requires careful shader work and lighting setup. Getting it right took several iterations.
Beyond the static renders, a series of animations showcased all the features and configurations of the notebook. Tools used : Houdini, Modo, After Effects and Octane Render.
