A few years ago, a small team based in the heart of Marseille reached out to me. They had built something genuinely exciting — a new kind of telescope designed for the general public. Smart, elegant, easy to use, paired with your smartphone, and assembled right in the center of the city. A single portable device capable of exploring deep space, hunting comets, and conducting real citizen science.
They needed an animation to explain how it worked. Not just a technical breakdown, but something that could make people feel the concept — the simplicity, the ambition, the experience of looking at the night sky differently.
I created that animation for them to show how works the eVscope eQuinox digital telescope.
The company was Unistellar. Today they have secured major investment and are partnering with Nikon worldwide.
I’m not saying a 3D animation built their success. Their technology and their team did that. But visual communication matters — especially at the beginning, when you’re trying to convince investors, press, and the public that your idea is worth believing in.
That’s the moment when a well-crafted animation can do a lot of the talking for you.
